Saab is going to use design cues from the Aero-X on a brand-new re-skinned Saab 9-3, and later after that on the 9-4x and 9-5. The new model will be unveiled in Sweden for the first time, in June 2006, and in in USA in August 2007.

The new 9-3 will have AWD as an option, which will enable higher engine specs and outputs. Also, it is very posible that the new 9-3 to receive standard setup for diesel engines.

The 2008 9-3 will be powered by a V6 turbo engine with 60-degree configuration, double overhead camshafts, four valves per cylinder, direct ignition and variable valve timing. The maximum power is 280 hp at 5500 rpm and the maximum torques is 400 Nm available from 1,700 to 5,500 rpm.
