After unveiling the S281 Coupe at the 2009 SEMA Show, Saleen has announced that a convertible version will be revealed this coming Sunday at the 25th Annual Fabulous Fords Forever!, hosted at Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, California.

The black S281 production convertible will be making its debut accompanied by a silver coupe and the powerful Saleen 435S. The Fabulous Fords show is one of the premier Ford events in the country and Saleen Performance Vehicles continues its tradition of interacting with the thousands of Ford enthusiasts who attend each year.

The S281 will be powered by a 4.6-liter V8 engine producing 485 hp and 460 lb.-ft. of torque, connected to the rear wheels via a short-throw, five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential with 3.73:1 final drive ratio.

Any Mustang lover will thoroughly enjoy this extravagant display of polished up ponies. If you are in the area or can get to the area, we would highly recommend attending this show. We hear there are about 2,000 entries expected to attend this event and will be sectioned off by generations as in the previous years. Last year, Shelby fans were thrilled to discover almost every Shelby model was in attendance. We could only imagine that this year will deliver the same excitement.

More details this Sunday, stay tuned!

Although, it has an impressive power output. I think it would be better if Saleen have used their own platform because this vehicle is look like a Dodge car.

The good thing about the Mustang was, although its a vintage car and the engine used was outdated still Ford manage to offer us a high speed performing vehicle.

I really don’t get on what’s so stunning here. The Saleen S302 seems better compare to the styling of this car though both of them don’t have an impressive performance. Chevrolet Camaro can offer an higher speed performance over this vehicle.

I really enjoyed seeing this polished ponies. However, I don’t think that styling is extravagant and even its speed performance is not that impressive for a v8 technology. I was expecting for a higher power output.

Yeah,Too bad for this car.. I think its speed performance is already great though its face looks like a copy cat version of Mustang! I want to see the Saleen to come up with a more original concept.

hmm. its kind of disappointing seeing a car that have the same look with other. I really can’t help but to doubt on the reliability of this car!

The only thing that I don’t like is that RED color..will you please just leave that color to
Ferrari. Better colored this Mustang with green for sure you will got a Bullet in your hands! McQueen and Cage should be proud of this. Though, its the best looking Mustang that I have seen.

This "Saleen" S281 is just a few minor details short of modern mustang perfection.
For those interested in owning the genuine article however, remember that Steve Saleen has nothing to do with this car. He retired from Saleen Performance Vehicles after a dispute, he now operates his own company; SMS Supercars.

This thing looks awesome. The back end treatment really improves on Fords rear end, and that front end just looks plain mean.

This new Saleen S281 has stood for excellence in design, engineering, and driving dynamics.

Can’t wait for them to reveal the TopSpeed of the new saleen, but I bet it can achieve a 170MPH Max.
