The Tesla Model 3 isn't really designed to go off-road, which is why these folks from Germany decided to do something about it
Meet - THE REAL LIFE GUYS, a bunch of German YouTuber's who decided to add tank tracks to a Tesla Model 3
Now obviously, you can't just go to you local auto parts shop and pick things up off the rack
Why is why these guys had to build things out themselves
The box frame seen here holds everything from the tracks, the pulleys, the sprockets, and crucially, the tracks that will help the Tesla take the road less travelled
And there was no better way of testing things out than by jumping onto one of these tracks and taking it for a spin in the bush
While the these tank tracks were ready, getting to mount them onto the Model 3 was a challenge
Eventually, the team came up with a way to lift the Tesla on a traditional cross lift
And mounting the tracks on. The final drive of the Tesla was bolted onto the tracks
And with that, the job was complete. It took the team close to a month together to complete this build
Behold, the Tesla Model T was ready for action. Lets run you by some numbers, 13200 lbs and 31" of ground clearance
Do you still want that Cybertruck? I mean here is an EV that's built for a battlefield and designed to take you places
Just to give you some perspective, here's what it looks next to a regular Model 3
The Model T later made a pretty dramatic entrance when it was unveiled to a small audience
It needs to be seen how it performs out in the field, maybe in a future video. Swipe up to read more.
