The 2014 Formula One season may be over, but that's not to say the sport is on a break until the 2015 stage commences in Australia in March. Manufacturers are still busy honing their updated cars, some drivers and staff members are changing teams, while young pilots join the series hoping to become the next Michael Schumacher.

As far as current drivers switching to other teams, Sebastian Vettel's move to Scuderia Ferrari is likely the most important transfer for the 2015 season. The German left Red Bull racing->ke731 after a successful six-year stint, during which he had won four World Drivers' Championship from 2010 to 2013. Vettel's move to Ferrari->ke252 comes after a poor 2014 season at the end of which the 27-year-old had to settle for fifth position in the Drivers' Championship. Making things that much more disappointing is that the German finished the year behind team mate Daniel Ricciardo; that's the first season Vettel wasn't Red Bull's leading driver.

Likely disappointed by this year's poor chassis and the not-so-great Renault->ke72 power unit, Vettel switched to Ferrari, a team that finished only fourth in the Constructors' standings, two places below Red Bull. It may not sound like a wise idea, but Vettel himself acknowledged that he has been dreaming to drive for the Scuderia since he was a kid. It seems the dream has finally came true, as Vettel will take Fernando Alonso's place as the team's No. 1 driver next season.

Ferrari is Vettel's fifth Formula One team since joining the sport in 2005. The German started as a test driver for Williams and then switched to Sauber, debuting as a full-time driver in 2006. He then spent a little more than a year with Scuderia Toro Rosso before moving to Red Bull Racing, the team that would help him win four Drivers' Championships.

It remains to be seen whether Vettel will help Ferrari win its first trophy since 2008, but the German is expected to play a key role in reviving the Italian stable. You'll have to wait for about three months to see him in action in the first official race for Ferrari, but meanwhile the Italians have released the first videos->ke278 of Vettel driving Maranello's familiar red monoposto.
