Driven by Mark Webber in Weissach

The upcoming 992-generation Porsche 911 is no longer a mystery design-wise. While we still don’t know much about the oily bits, we’ve already seen the sports car without camouflage in several photos. Now it’s time to see it in action on the race track with former Formula One driver and World Endurance Championship winner Mark Webber behind the steering wheel.

A Porsche representative since he quit racing, Mark Webber was invited to Weissach to put the new 911 through its paces. The video is obviously too short for gearheads like us, but it shows a more dynamic and precise 911 through the bends.

Webber seems happy with the experience as well, calling the new 911 a "sensational" car that "lives up to its expectations." The Australian driver also praised its stability and the wider, GT3-spec front track. "There are so many highlights. The wide front axle, for example, seemed to give it greater cornering performance and turning-in became even more precise," he added.

The 992-generation 911 will be unveiled at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show in less than 24 hours. Stay tuned for the big event.
