Now that Bugatti has broken the world speed record with the new Veyron 16.4 Super Sport, it’s the SSC’s turn to make a move. In a recent statement, the company announced that a new, faster Aero is in the works and that it will be faster than the new Veyron.

"We’ve been working on a new project to debut before the end of the summer. Not much can be said at this time except that we’ll be upping the ante on all fronts. Having famed American designer Jason Castriota as our lead design enables SSC to reflect its engineer and performance in its aesthetics. It’s impossible for us to be more thrilled about having him on board and we’re anxious to show the world what we have up our sleeve."

The current SSC Ultimate Aero is powered by a mid-engined, twin-turbo 6.2-liter V8 engine that delivers a total of 1183 HP and is capable of hitting a top speed of 256 mph. However, in order to run faster than the current 267 mph record, the next Aero will need to be more powerful and lighter.

Well, a geebus maybe haha but that’s too unrealistic besides its 2011. Lets move on to the new designs. Just kidding. If you see any alternatives, post it here and I’m going to check it out.

The interior is really a bias, I prefer the Ult. Aero’s interior over the Veyron’s. There is no more to the Veyron than Top speed. The Aero also accelerates, and handles amazingly. It is also engaging and fun to drive.

@Uncia They are on the road.

That’s fine, but there’s a lot more to the Veyron than just top speed... like a real interior.

I hope they get a better designer for it than whoever they got from the 80’s to do the Ultimate Aero... 1986 called, and they want their supercar back... geebus!

They "sold" some technically, but none of these cars are actually out on the road yet.

Not sure you can really improve on perfection, but I hope SSC does.

good luck, i hope they can make the veyron eats some dust.

yes, it was rated as fastest as the veyron but that was before. Now, bugatti has an ultimate super car and they are aiming to be the fastest car ever built.

All they really have to do is test the 2010 Ultimate Aero. It can already beat the Veyron it just hasn’t been tested. 1287bhp and less drag than the Veyron. But a new car from them is exciting. Improving on an already exceptional design. It won’t take any improvement to hit 270 but I won’t mind any.

And Uncia, they have sold a bunch.

What do they mean "new?" The Ultimate Aero was never even sold.
