We have to give props to the many automotive designers out there that get their kicks out of looking into their crystal ball and envisioning what the cars of tomorrow will look like. Even more worthy attention should go to young designers that may still be wet behind the ears, but can deliver on style and vision every time. A couple of years ago we reported on a Ghost Motorcycle Concept by a young Singapore designer by the name of Imran Othman. That same designer has now moved on to bigger things with his 2020 Proton sports car.

Othman’s sports car was designed to challenge any sports coupe out there. Its exterior design continues on with the usual Proton language, meaning a car with impressive aerodynamics and a tiger-like look inspired by Proton’s symbol. The concept’s exterior shows off curvy, sexy shapes, while the interior combines luxury with comfort.

Since this was designed as a 2020 vehicle, Imran Othman decided it would run on LPG, but said nothing of the power output this would achieve. Not that it matters anyway, if this "tiger on wheels" ever hits the streets, it would surely smash the competition.

Well, the good thing is that its still a concept car, so let’s hope not to see this car line up for production. However. I wan to see some of its detail on their future production.

hmm. It seem there are a lot of weird design coming out just like the Triango Revelation. I was thinking if these car manufacturers thinks that their design will sell? Hell1 I don’t want to see myself driving around this car.

Sorry, but I’m not really familiar with this car manufacturer and if they are reliable in making a car..Well, it seems that it will be long before we could see this car in the showroom.. However, I still wait for the updates for its production.

I think that design in the back bumper was similar with one of Alfa Romeo future production. Hmm. I don’t know, It would be better if we are going to wait for the production of
this car and see how will it look.

And with the way these younger designers are going aggressively with their take on modern cars, I really think that it is only a matter of time before the automakers themselves take notice.

Yeah, I would agree with that. A lot of automakers are really not that all willing to shift from their current design threads. But who knows, maybe in a few year’s time.

Well, that would indeed be a good one. But I doubt that carmakers would easily pay attention. Not that his designs are bad, it’s just auto companies are differently oriented nowadays when it comes to design.

I agree. With this designs, Othman would surely be an asset to any company that would hire him. The guy certainly has a lot of talent and potential in him.

Yup, this one is definitely one of the designs that you ought to watch out for in the next few years. Hop carmakers would take notice and actually hire Othman.

I have liked his design, it doesn’t look like a work for a newbie. I bet with a break and a little more furnishing this car would be a great production for their next releasedsmiley

I’m not really familiar with Proton cars but I do believe that the young designer has a lot of potential.

I really like how all the curves fit in well in this design. I makes the car look very sleek. I hope they would actually translate this one into reality.

  (797) posted on 04.14.2011

Actually, you might indeed be mistaken. Sometimes, many concept cars use the same design elements, which is why they would often come out similarly.

  (780) posted on 04.13.2011

Hmm. If I’m not mistaken I have seen this concept already..Somewhere here at TopSpeed and I think its concept also. So, I would say that the concept is not that original.

  (780) posted on 04.13.2011

Well, it comes to the concept. I think the young designer has a great potential. However, I don’t like the shape of this car it looks like a distorted or something, but I do admit that the rear skirt is sexy!

  (570) posted on 04.13.2011

Yeah, I would agree with you that this one is a rather sexy car. Though, lets face it, this one is nothing more than a concept, so we won’t be seeing this for real.

What can I say? This one is really very impressive. It look very innovative while still keeping inline with current design trends. Now if only the automakers would notice.
