Top Gear’s has seen better days, don’t you think? I mean let’s face it; simply Googling the name of the show (or maybe even BBC for that matter) will get you a huge list of headlines that are so dramatic that it even outshines the Kardashian reality craze of the late 2000s. Most of the drama and crap out there revolves around Chris Evans and self-destructive crash from stardom. But today, we actually have something good to say about one of Youtube new hosts, and you’re going to love it.

By now, you know all about Chris Harris, even if you haven’t even seen a single episode of his Chris Harris on Cars. series Chris Harris on Cars. While Evan’s in self-destruct mode, Harris was setting himself up for his own TV show. That’s right; Chris Harris is finally getting his own TV Show, and it will be called – big shocker here – Chris Harris on Cars.

In a recent press statement, Harris expressed his opinion about the new show, saying, “If wanton tire destruction, powerslides, and continuous drooling over the world's fastest and most expensive road racers like the Porsche 911 GT3 RS or the Aston Martin GT12 is your thing—you could do considerably worse than watch me put them through their respective paces on track and road on BBC America.” I would say that Harris is tooting his own horn a little, but what can I say? The man is right.

There isn't any word on how this new show will affect his current role on Top Gear, but I wouldn't expect that to change much. Harris’ new show will premiere on July 11th at 9 p.m. Eastern time on BBC, with the first season running just seven episodes. I don’t know about you but, here at TopSpeed, we’re all excited to see the new show.

Why it Matters

Well, we can't very well talk about Chris Harris without looking at some of his finer moments, so why not enlighten your day with this drift compilation highlighting his drifting skills.

At this point, it’s just nice to hear something positive is coming out of the new Top Gear’s and it sounds like Chris Harris is BBC’s new favorite celebrity. I’ve been a fan of his work for a while, and to be honest, it’s about damn time the man gets his own standalone television show. Hopefully, the fact that he has so much going on doesn’t sacrifice the quality of anything he’s involved in. I’m not too worried about that, considering Harris – unlike Chris Evans – is actually a professional, though. Stick with us for updates on this new show, because you know we’ll all be plastered to the TV on the 11th when it airs.
