The Aston Martin DB11 is an amazing car. And for what it is, despite the lower niche it sits in, the Fiat 124 Spider – and Mazda MX-5 Miata for the matter – is just as awesome in its own way. The former is a thoroughbred sports car that, in its base form, pumps out 503 horsepower from a turbocharged V-8. The latter, on the other hand, is good for a measly-in-comparison 164 horsepower from a much smaller 1.4-liter four-banger. What if things were different, though? What if the Aston Martin DB11 actually carried around a significant portion of Fiat 124 DNA? It sounds outlandish, but one rendering artist set out to find out, and the truth is, it actually looks pretty awesome – let’s just hope that a 1.4-liter engine is nowhere to be found.

This Rendering Is Almost a Dead Ringer for the Classic V8 Vantage…Almost

The rendering that you see here comes from tuningcar_ps on Instagram. And, before you go about knocking the quality of the rendering, you should probably know that this wasn’t done with photoshop. The person behind it actually made it using a phone and some kind of photo editing capability. Perhaps it was a mobile Photoshop app; perhaps it wasn’t. What matters is that it actually looks surprisingly good for what it is.

There’s not much more to it than that, but that’s the cool part about it. In fact, one could argue that if you threw some round driving lights into the grille, this baby would look a hell of a lot like the late-70s V8 Vantage or at least something that would pay tribute to it. Of course, the chance of this mashup happening doesn’t extend beyond this article and that Instagram post, but I would definitely be the first to suggest that Aston Martin and Fiat team up – this is one mashup I wouldn’t mind seeing on the road in real life.
