It’s not like we haven’t seen it E3 already. Oh wait... yes we did.

Porsche has been pretty tight-lipped about its new 911 GT2 RS. Sure; we all saw it at the 2017 Xbox E3 event just a few weeks ago, but once everything was said and done, Porsche tried to pretend that it didn’t exist. This became more than evident when various publications tried to reach out for comment regarding rumors that all 1,000 examples had already been spoken for. With that in mind, the GT2 RS is set to make its “official debut” this weekend at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Before that could happen, however, someone decided to leak some official images, like the ones shown above, on Rennlist early this morning.

Now, it’s pretty clear that nothing has changed since we saw the new GT2 RS at E3, but this time around we get a look at the rear (the only rear shot we had before was from Forza 7 pre-alpha gameplay) and finally get to see what’s going on inside – at least to an extent, anyway. The most notable thing about the interior is the perfect split of red and black coloring. The headlights, A-pillars, B-pillars, central arm rest, seat centers, and steering wheel are all wrapped in red Alcantara, while the dash looks to get a healthy dose of black Alcantara mixed in with some leather and red contrast stitching. There are also red accents on the door trim panels and the gear shifter, while carbon fiber trim adorns the seat chassis, seat side bumpers, and the face trim of the dash. Finally, there is red embroidery on the front of the headrests and a pretty gnarly looking roll cage behind the front seats. Not too shabby, if I do say so myself. But, let’s talk more about what else we can expect.

Is it Really the Meanest 911 Yet?

Well, the interior and exterior are something out of every enthusiast’s wet dream. Outside, the car is more aerodynamic than ever, and there’s just the right amount of aggressiveness lingering to assert that typical German dominance that RS-cars are known for. Meanwhile, the interior is downright sexy. Of course, we won’t know for sure what will provide motivation, but rumor has it that a reworked version of the 3.8-liter flat-six (based on the 3.8-liter found in the 911 Turbo S) should provide somewhere around 700 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque. In fairness, some rumors speculate that horsepower output will be more like 690, but neither here nor there. Expect the 60-mph sprint to come in somewhere around 2.5 seconds with top speed coming in somewhere above 210 mph.

As you can see, those estimated power output figures put the GT2 RS above the pack considerably in horsepower. Torque is also higher, with the GT2 RS expected to deliver at least 37 pound-feet more than the 911 Turbo S. And, even more importantly, that’s an improvement of 88 horsepower and 37 pound-feet over the last GT2 model. A total of 1,000 examples will be produced in all, which is actually double that of the last-gen GT2. And, as luck would have it, word is that every single one of these track-bred beasts have already been spoken for.

With that said, I have to point out that it’s pretty funny how weird Porsche was being about confirming that it has been sold out or even officially confirming there was a new GT2 despite it being the focal car of Forza 7. What’s even more humorous, though, is that someone threw a monkey wrench in the plan by leaking out the official images you see here. Sorry, Porsche, but someone just had to ruin your big day.

What do you guys think now that we’ve had a better look at the new GT2? How about the interior? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below, and when you’re done, check out our speculative review on the GT2 RS to get yourself primed for its upcoming debut here.
