Now that we already know when Gran Turismo 5 is going to be released, we’re now being bombarded with news about possible new features for the game. One of which apparently, is a new kink in the racing game franchise that allows us to design our very own race track.

Sure, it’s been in the rumor oven for quite some time now, but according to Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida in an interview with the UK Playstation blog, the design-your-own-track feature will be available on GT5. That’s not all, too. In addition to this "track creating and sharing", Yoshida also confirms some more new wrinkles to the game, including go-karts and an all-new weather system.

"Gran Turismo 5 will offer gamers an experience more rich, more in-depth and more exciting than they might expect – even from a series as closely identified with innovation and invention as Gran Turismo," Yoshida said.

"These innovations are twinned with the option to join millions of like-minded individuals globally within the Gran Turismo community and to find a driving experience to suit, whether that is taking on the Top Gear test track, chucking cars around stunt arenas, go-karting, creating and sharing your own track or intense head-to-head races. Who, where and what to drive is completely down to the individual."

We’re going out on a limb here, but it certainly looks like we’re going to be in for quite a revolutionary game, after all.

Yeah, I would say that this is one of the best offer that we can see for a car game. Most of the race track were already default. BTW, I like feedback that I heard on the GT5 expect of course on its delayed released.

Well, I guess this is one of the reason why everyone want to purchase this game! For a long time waiting for its new installation I bet the gamer was satisfied with the upgrade on the GT5.

I think it depends on the player if he wants a more difficult course or just a plain straight line track. And I have to agree that this is the most interactive game that I have played.

It’s really worth to wait for this car game for I think this is the most interactive game that I have played recently. Imagine, you can create your own track here. I think this is the only car game that offers that features.

This is extremely cool. I have remember that they released this tease during those days that we are waiting for the debut of the GT5. I just wonder if I could create the race track just like on Top Gearsmiley

About time! The best race game(s) ever made. I have no problems stating that.

This game has issues. It is too big and in depth. Spread it out. I don’t need 1000 cars. 500 is too many. Creating a track is great though. I sure hope they fixed the feel of the game. GT4 was crap compared to Forza 2. This game sounds more and more awesome but unless they fixed the driving feel it will still .
