We’ve all waited long enough for the release of Gran Turismo 5, and while the actual game is still months away from being released, Sony has finally agreed to give us a taste, albeit a brief sample, of what the game is all about.

Beginning on December 17, the European and American Playstation Network will have two different downloadable demos of GT5 available.

For the European network, the demo features the “GT Academy Time Trial” where 20 players from select countries will get a chance to enter the GT Academy, a training program that allows the winner to compete in the European GT4 Cup on-board a race-overhauled Nissan 370Z.

As for the American network, gamers from the US and Canada will also get a chance to partake in the “GT Academy Time Trial”, but it involves a different, yet equally tantalizing, prize altogether: a trip to the Indianapolis 500.

The game’s scheduled release is still a few months away, but Sony sure does know how to make the wait worth it.

How do you figure, the new demo has a stock 370Z, and tuned 370Z, and one track, most likely to be the Indianapolis road course. That’s two cars, one track.

The game seems to be exciting as of the video of it really teased video games to buy the game as soon as possible. I’ve been a fan since of Gran Turismo and this new GT seems to be more fun, more exciting to play as if you’re driving the real one, and of course the feeling that you achieve the high ranking of this game.
