The third generation BMW X5 has been caught testing in many times, but the prototype caught testing today is wearing less camouflage then ever. The problem is that the cammo has been dropped in such a manner that is doesn't actually show any important detail.

For the next X5->ke326, BMW will focus on reducing the SUV's total weight by at least 330 lbs and reducing fuel economy. For this BMW will be using all the technologies developed in the past few years, but also, as a first for the X5, they will be offering two new four-cylinder engines. top version will still be offered with the usual 4.4 liter V8 engine with improved figures and reduced fuel consumption. BMW->ke178 will also be offering a M version powered by a twin-turbo V8 delivering some 560 horsepower. A plug-in hybrid version has also been rumored.

Rumors say the third generation BMW X5 will be unveiled at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.
