Land Rover recently unveiled the third-generation Range Rover Sport in May 2022, and truth to be told, it is the best-looking SUV to have launched in 2022. With the new Range Rover Sport out of the nest, we have the more beefed-up SVR to take things to the next level. Fortunately, our photographers captured the upcoming SVR prototype with a thin camouflage. The spy shots indicate that the design will be more athletic than that of the standard Range Rover Sport.

In March 2022, the camouflaged Range Rover Sport SVR was spotted testing on the Nürburgring, and since then, we couldn’t get close to the prototypes until now. So for starters, the SVR will be very similar to the Sport regarding the overall design. In addition, the SVR will have a more aggressive front and rear bumper design, as you can see in the spy shots. The front of the prototype seems to have wider air intake vents than the Sport. The sides expose blacked-out 20-spoke wheels that come wrapped in Michelin tires. However, the rear is slightly different from the Sport, since the SVR prototype has four rounded tailpipes. We also believe that the diffuser will be more prominent with the SVR, since it is the top trim in the Range Rover Sport line-up.

Our photographers couldn’t capture the interior of the SVR prototype, but we are confident that most of the high-end tech that Land Rover has to offer will be part. Features include four-zone climate control, a heated steering wheel, a 13.1-inch curved infotainment screen, a 13.7-inch MID, heated seats with ventilation support, and a 29-speaker Meridian audio unit. All of which will be carried over to the SVR.

SVR is known for performance, and there will be significant changes with the 2023 model year. The outgoing SVR’s 5.0-liter supercharged V-8 will be replaced with a BMW-sourced 4.4-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine, like the Range Rover Sport’s P530 First Edition trim. We expect the power figures to be close to the current BMW X5 M, which puts out 600 ponies and 553 pound-feet of torque. Like the outgoing generation, there will be a sport-tuned air suspension and upgraded brakes, among other SVR-specific upgrades.

The new-generation Range Rover Sport looks bonkers and has a more aerodynamic body compared to the boxy-looking earlier generation. So with the upcoming SVR, we expect a lot better performance SUV, with all the luxury of the standard Sport. The forthcoming Range Rover Sport SVR will be launching later in 2022 or at the beginning of 2023.
