Unveiled in 2019, the GLB is a relatively new model. But despite only being three years old, the GLB - just like every other model in Mercedes' lineup - is due for an update. A first prototype was caught testing on the streets of Germany, and just as expected, it wears very little camouflage. This means the changes will be minimal, with the only updates being an attempt to keep the GLB fresh for a few more years.

What's New About the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLB?

The prototype caught testing is wearing little camouflage on the front and the rear end - which means these will be the area with most of the updates. We expect to see slightly revised headlights with new daytime running lights, plus an updated grilled and a revised bumper. Changes in the back will be even less visible and will be limited to some revised light graphics. That will be pretty much it, as the GLB is still new in the lineup and doesn’t need a lot of improvements.

For now, we have no images of the interior, but we expect a few changes here too. As with all the other Mercedes revised models, we expect to see an updated infotainment system with new graphics for the digital instrument cluster.

What will power the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLB?

A facelift version is usually only about small changes for the exterior and the interior, with nothing changing under the hood. This means that the revised, 2024 GLB will be offered with the same engines as the current model. In the States, the GLB 250 is powered by a turbocharged, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that cranks out 221 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. There is also a more powerful AMG GLB 35 powered by a turbocharged, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine tuned by AMG. It delivers a total of 302 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, but that's pretty much all the options we have. It is very possible that the facelifted model will also add the GLB 45 trim to the lineup - which is currently missing. The A45 - which shares most of its technology with the GLB - is powered by the new "M139" 2.0-liter engine capable of delivering 382 horsepower in the standard, and 416 horsepower in the S version. It is very possible that the GLB 45 will get a similar treatment.

When will the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLB arrive?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLB should be unveiled by in late 2022 or early 2023, with sales set to begin in the first quarter of 2023. Just like with the current model, prices should start from around $40,000.
