• Spy Shots: An Early Look at the 2024 Porsche Panamera

The Taycan finally seems to be rubbing off on the Panamera after all

It was just earlier last month that we said that the Panamera will say goodbye to combustion engines for good. But, Porsche’s sports sedan will be around and co-exit with the Taycan, one last time. These latest spy shots of the 2024 Panamera though are all about the interior and how they overlap with its EV sibling.

Interior

Our spy photographers have already captured the upcoming Panamera during winter testing, but this is the first time that we’re getting to see the interior. As you can clearly see, this is a big departure from all the usual array of buttons that we’ve become used to with the Panamera. Sure they’re not as crazy as they once used to be, but they were present nonetheless. The upcoming Panamera though seems to have an interior that is straight out of the current Taycan.

Zooming in, you’ll just about be able to get a glimpse of the exterior shots

There are now just a handful of buttons now on the lower panel that sit below the air vents. You have the upper screen that if you zoom in hard enough shows you what the upcoming car’s exterior looks like as well. Our spy photographer also tells us that there is also a dedicated display for the passenger as well and I see no reason why Porsche would not want to get in on the action of offering more screens on the dash, like Mercedes is doing with some models like the current EQS.

Exterior

As for the exterior, they’re much the same as our spy shots that we saw earlier last month. Personally, I’ve never been a fan of the way that the Panamera looked, but I’m glad that the design has evolved over the past decade and Porsche was especially able to nail the design on a 4-door format with the Taycan. This latest update is more likely to be a facelift with refreshed bumpers, and new lights front, and back. Gear heads in particular will be happy to spot the exhausts in the rear. A proper nip and tuck if you will, Porsche style. This render below should give you an idea of just what to expect from the next Panamera.

Powertrain

Just about a month ago, we spotted what could very well be the last ever combustion-engined Panamera

As for the powertrain, I anticipate that folks from Zuffenhausen have realized that they need to up the ante with this latest iteration of the Panamera. Expect the 2.9-Liter V-6 and the 4.0-Liter V-8 to feature mild-hybrid tech, while the E-Hybrid models could get improved powertrains in terms of the engines and electric motors. The plug-in-hybrids should feature a far more substantial battery with faster charging, that’ll help improve the all-electric range of the PHEV Panamera.

Conclusion

While the spy shots did show off the exterior of the Porsche’s 4 door sports sedan

As the move toward electrification takes place across the industry, the existence of models like the Panamera becomes less and less relevant, especially when they already have their all-electric Taycan on sale. But for now, the two cars will co-exist (period) and this may very well be the last time. The 2024 Porsche Panamera should be unveiled sometime next year. Watch this space.
