Now that the new BMW 4 Series Coupe is out and live, we are simply waiting for the convertible version to come.

Of course, there will be no surprises when it finally debuts, but we are still happy that our our spy photographers sent us these sweet spy shots that reveal the 4 Series Convertible in a stunning Melbourne Red hue and featuring the M Sport Package.

It looks like the engineers took the car out for a testing session at high altitude and since it was a sunny day, they were kind enough to open the top for our spy shooters.

As no surprise, the 4 Series Convertible will share its technology with its hard-top brethren, including the engine lineup, the transmissions and the equipment features. The M Sport package will make it look a little more aggressive and prepares us for the upcoming M4 Convertible.

BMW will put the new BMW 4 Series Convertible into production by the end of 2013.

Spy shots

The 4 Series Convertible caught testing today by our spy photographers is equipped with a M Sport package that makes it look even more aggressive than the base version.

The prototype is still camouflaged, but we know the M Sport package adds an M Performance aerodynamic kit, which includes a new front bumper with a carbon-fiber splitter and larger air ducts, new front and rear carbon-fiber spoilers, new side sills, and a boot deck spoiler also made from carbon fiber.
