We haven't heard anything about the production version of the BMW 4-Series Coupe ever since the company unveiled the concept version at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. Today, however, our spy photographers managed to catch the car during a break in testing.

As you can see, next to it there was an Audi A5 Coupe, meaning that BMW->ke178 likely wanted to see how the coupe version of the 4-Series would stack up to its key competitor.

When compared to the 3-Series sedan version, the upcoming 4-Series will be a few inches longer and will feature a more aggressive front end that will transform the coupe into a very sporty model. Still, you should expect the same three-dimensional BMW double kidney grille and the headlamps we have seen in the new generation 3-Series sedan.

Under the hood, BMW will place the latest four- and six-cylinder engines, including a new 240-horsepower, 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine.

Expect the new BMW 4-Series Coupe to arrive later this year.
