The standard BMW Gran Coupe has been on many people's wish lists since the concept first took to the floor of the 2010 Beijing Auto Show. However, those fans may want to put their purchases on hold for just a bit longer because our spy photographers have just captured the next variant of the 4-door Coupe while testing. The Gran Coupe fitted with the company's M-Sport package should arrive just a few short months after the standard model's 2012 debut and should be priced a little north of the standard model's $75,000.

The standard Gran Coupe will be inspired by the Gran Coupe concept and will be built on the same platform as the 5-Series->ke317, meaning it will sit 4.4 inches longer than the 6-Series->ke320 (116.8 vs 112.4). It will be powered by either a turbocharged Inline-6 developing 300 HP and 300 lbs/ft at 1400 rpm or a twin turbo V8 that puts out 400 HP and 450 lbs/ft at 1750 rpm.

As with all the other BMW->ke178 models, the M-Sport package will add a bevy of accessories, including an M aerodynamic body styling package, 19-inch M light alloy wheels, dark chrome exhaust tailpipes, a High-gloss Shadowline exterior trim, and black brake calipers. For the interior, the Gran Coupe with the M-Sport package will see sport seats and an M Sport multi-function leather trimmed steering wheel.
