Last month, the hard-top version of the new F-Type was caught testing for the first time and today, our spy photographers caught it testing again. This time around, they caught it screaming around the Nürburgring. According to them, the F-Type Coupe was out for just some quick laps before it vanished again.

As no surprise, the new coupe version will remain basically identical to its roadster brother, except, of course, the hard top. The F-Type Coupe will borrow a lot of its exterior design from the C-X16 Concept, which was sexy in its own right.

Under its hood, the F-Type Coupe will keep the same engine lineup as the convertible variant, including a 3.0-liter supercharged V-6 in the F-Type and F-Type S models and a 5.0-liter supercharged V-8 in the F-Type V8 S version. Depending on the model, the F-Type Coupe will deliver anywhere between 340 to 495 horsepower.

We expect the Jaguar F-Type Coupe to hit the market in 2014.

Spy shots

The prototype caught testing today by our spy photographers dons some serious camouflage, but even so, it’s not too difficult to imagine how it will without the camo. Basically, it will be an F-Type Roadster without the soft top.

Up front, the F-Type Coupe will get the shark grille and vertical headlights. The roofline is one of the key differences between the coupe and convertible models; where the convertible drops off forward of the trunk, the coup model swoops all the way to the rear spoiler.

For the rear, the taillights will feature LED technologies and the spy shots are even revealing that active rear spoiler that deploys at specific speeds to reduce aerodynamic lift.
