The first rumors about a more powerful Range Rover Sport started to surface at the beginning of 2013 when the British magazine AutoCar reported that confirmation came from a Land Rover->ke46 insider. Since then, we've caught it testing a few times, and today we have images from its latest testing session on Nurbugring.

Compared to the previous times that we've caught it, this time the prototype is singing its favorite tune through a new quad-tailpipe exhaust system, and there is also a nice space between these pipes for a diffuser.

On the front bumper, there are massive air intakes and there are some new heat extractors on the hood to help keep that hulking V-8 good and cool. There are no official details on the type of engine that these intakes and vents are keeping cool, but rumors suggest that the new R-S version could get a supercharged V-8 putting down a healthy 550 horsepower.

Expect the new Range Rover Sport R-S to hit a dealers in 2014, shortly after the Range Rover Evoque R-S.

Spy shots

The prototype caught testing has some pretty heavy camouflage on it, but it is still obvious that this beast will carry a more aggressive look.

If you have a close look, you can make out a new front bumper design that includes large air intakes. On the hood, you can also see a pair of heat extractors near the rear corners. The likely plan here is to have air enter the engine compartment through the intakes on the bumper, cool the engine, then flow out of the extractors and around the windshield.

Around back, we expect to see a revised bumper and a fat diffuser splitting those quad-exit exhaust tips.

On top of the fresh body kit, we expect to see some black contrasting paintwork on the hood, mirror caps and wheels.
