Porsche’s next halo car, the 918 Spyder, just got done running some laps at the Nürburgring for the first time, and lucky for us, our spy photographers were right there to take advantage of the glorious opportunity. As you can see, this prototype went from the classic black exterior paint to a very cool white combined with some Martini stickers - a first for the 918.

The Porsche 918 Spyder will be powered by a race-derived 4.6-liter V8 engine combined with two electric motors for a total output of 762 HP and 552 lb-ft of torque. The model will be offered with "spectacular solutions such as a full carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) monocoque with unit carrier, fully adaptive aerodynamics, adaptive rear-axle steering, and the upward-venting “top pipes” exhaust system." For interested customers, Porsche will also be offering a Race Track package.

The new Porsche 918 Spyder is set to be unveiled in September 2013 with the first deliveries to be made by the end of the same year. The model will be priced at $845,000 in the U.S., but only 918 units will be produced.

What will works best on this Spyder is the unit carrier, fully adaptive aerodynamics, adaptive rear-axle steering, and upward-venting top pipes exhaust system.

At least we already have a knowledge about this Spyder on how it will look like.

I like the Spyder’s skin on that shot. It looks cool and sporty if you will consider it.

So that will be the final design for the Spyder? It’s just simple and very typical for me.

Why didn’t they put any cover to it? Their competitors are now making a car that they can match up with that vehicle.
