• Street Legal Saleen S7 Competition for Sale

We will continue our list of ultra-expensive Christmas gifts with a special vehicle: a street legal Saleen Competition S7 supercar available for sale for an impressive $499,000.

When unveiled in 2000, the Saleen S7 was powered by a naturally aspirated V8 engine with 550 HP. With the introduction of the Competition package, Saleen added a few updates, including 100 HP engine upgrades, a big Le Mans style race wing, winglets up front, and red/black 4pt
harness seats. With the new updates, the car was capable of sprinting from 0 to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds and hitting a top speed of more than 200 mph. This was just a step closer to the impressive Twin-Turbo version that was capable of a top speed of 248 mph.

The S7 on sale is the number 27 model, which was the first one offered with the competition package, and the first one that featured the red exterior paint.

However crazy the $499,000 price tag may sound, at least it’s less expensive than the $1.17 million dollar sticker on the Zenvo ST1 supercar. Which one would you like to see in your garage on Christmas morning?

IMO, this car really defines the word aggressiveness on the car! The styling and design on the Saleen both exterior and interior is quite impressive plus the 100 hp boost power is just enough to make this car runs like a rocket speed.

The platform of the car look great though it seems like to be a heavy vehicle! And the boost on its power output is quite impressive . However, it seems that its kind of pricey.. I could actually bought a two Aventador on that money!

Oh no! So that price is in sale already, then how much it will cost when not in bargainsmiley However, the sprint of the car quite amazing but the power is less powerful I think..

Aesthetically, I really don’t like the design of this car. I think its already overdecorated and bloat loaded. BTW, please leave the color red on Ferrari car.

Yes you are right ettore_lombardi! That gullwing looks hideous. I think only Mercedes could make that wing look better on car! Honestly, I will not be considering this car since there are a lot of other option in the market.

The car doesn’t look so much aggressive. I think the that’s the worst design for the gullwing that i have ever seen. I suggest they made it longer. However, it has a great performance figures.

They also sell paper license plate inserts (like the ones from the dealership that come with a new car) that say Saleen on them. They cost $2.

Has anyone been to that Saleen store? They have a Mustang cut in half lengthwise, so you can walk through it and see the insides of the drivetrain, etc.

The Bugatti stormed to 248 mph, besting the Koenigsegg’s 241 mph, but since the measuring wasn’t done by the Guinness Book of World Records, it’s still being verified.

The CCR could break the record again when it goes for the record on a salt flat instead of the Nardo ring.

This has been on its way for a very long time. Steve Saleen ran the company into the ground very well. Saleen was bleeding over 18 Million a year when he was there. Paul Wilbur and his team slowed the bleed a little but I think to much damage was done, not to mention the current financial environment.

The performance level of many of today’s cars is beyond that of most drivers. Supercar performance even more so. So most of those cars are not sold for what they can actually do, but for their image.

One day a car dealer told me that a red car in the showroom will sell like the warm bread. Why don;t they make more of them? This one wouldn’t sell anyway judging by the color... sorry... price tag smiley

They need to work a bit on simplifying the shape, The car has plenty of look potential, but in order to top a Ferrari or Lamborghini, it needs a bit more than to smoke it on the road!
