Klassen has stretched several luxury vehicles in the past. According to their website, they have worked on the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, Range Rover Autobiography, Bentley Bentayga, and the Mercedes G-Class. Most recently, the company stretched and armored a Cullinan and put a $2 million price tag on it.

It has even worked on minivans like the Mercedes-Benz V-Class and the Sprinter. Now, the company has laid its hands on a Land Rover Range Rover Autobiography and given it a typical Klassen treatment. The SUV is stretched by 40 inches and is completely bulletproof. How’s that for a royal car?

What Are The Structural Changes Made To The Stretched Klassen Range Rover?

The Range Rover Autobiography in question is stretched by 40 inches, or 1016 mm, in length and now measures 244.7 inches. The wheelbase now measures 163 inches.

Going by this, we’re assuming this Range Rover is the long-wheelbase model because the wheelbase on this measures 123 inches. So, the entire 40-inch increase has taken place in the wheelbase itself. The standard Range Rover’s wheelbase measures 115 inches.

You’d expect suicide doors for such a setup, but the rear door still opens the same way as the others, despite having rear-facing seats on the inside. The company has also provided a sliding glass roof with handrails on the sides that will be helpful during parades.

As for the other changes, Klassen has stripped off the Range Rover lettering from the bonnet and the Land Rover badge from the grille. A set of four small visual warning lights of sorts feature here. The company has installed a flag point on both the fenders. Klassen badging can also be seen here. Apart from that, there are no noteworthy customizations on the SUV.

How Is The Stretched Klassen Range Rover On The Inside?

There are two captain chairs with a center console in the middle that controls stuff like the air conditioning, ventilated seats, glass roof, and so on. A touchscreen infotainment system is also present and it supports Apple CarPlay, too.

The first row of the driver’s section receives a glass partition that can be configured to be either opaque or tinted. In the stretched area, Klassen has equipped two rear-facing folding seats along with grab handles on the B-pillars. And, just like the exterior, even the interior receives an all-black treatment.

What Kind Of Protection Does It Offer?

The Range Rover Autobiography by Klassen is armored with ballistic protection of the highest level (7, that is) that protects occupants from 7.62 mm caliber bullets fired from 10 meters away. The tires are bulletproof and can travel up to 50 miles at the speed of 50 mph when punctured. Klassen even offers an armored glass panorama roof as an option.

How Much Does The Stretched Klassen Range Rover Cost?

In the U.S., the starting price of the Land Rover Range Rover Autobiography is $130,300. Klassen, however, is charging €750,000, which is approximately $816,000 at the current exchange rates, for this example with all the options included. That’s roughly over six times more expensive than the stock SUV.

Final Thoughts

The Klassen Range Rover is a fantastic vehicle that offers impeccable protection to the occupants, along with a plush and premium feel. Its target audience is fairly straight-forward – VIPs, especially politicians. Klassen also customizes each SUV as per the buyer’s needs, so you can choose the features that suit your requirements and eliminate the rest.
