Built in cooperation with Toyota, the Impreza Coupe will go into production in 2010 and will compete with the BMW 3-Series Coupe and Nissan 370Z.

The Coupe version is inspired by the five-door model, but gets a rakish rear end. That gives it a chunky yet athletic appearance which stands out from the crowd.

Under the hood there will be a choice of two engines: a normally aspirated 2.0-litre unit giving around 180bhp, and a high-performance 2.5-litre turbo powerplant that will deliver 300bhp.

The Impreza Coupe will first be sold in Japan and the US and in Europe in 2011.

Maybe now when Subaru is working with Toyota they will improuve the design. For now i prefer the Lancer.

I prefer my cars to last a while, and this is where subaru will excell over the Mitsu’s. But, competing with the quality and creadture comforts of a Bimmer? I don’t think they’ve refind the brand that much yet in their performance segment. But they’re getting there.

I wonder why the Legacy doesn’t already fit the roll they’re trying to fill?

Well, the thing here is that performance of Subarus are equal to the EVOs but the one area where they fail is the design while the EVOs keep on getting better in every way.

And the "thing" on the hood is Subarus trademark and the only thing some of the older versions had to look aggressive. without it, they may as well have been granny’s hatch.

nice look, they kept that "think" on the hood, but except that it looks great
