Most of the supercars you see come up for sale in the used market are generally rare and have very few miles on the odo. They sell for a fat amount almost always. Other than the condition and desirability of the vehicle, there is another factor associated with it – history.

For instance, have you heard of the brand Cizeta? It isn’t as famous as your Shelby or Aston Martin, but it is still commanding a lot of attention lately because one of its rare models was owned by none other than the car czar, the Sultan of Brunei, and it’s up for sale now!

What’s So Special About The Cizeta V16T?

Cizeta was created by Claudio Zampolli, the genius who played a big part in the development of the Lamborghini Miura and also in building a strong foothold for the Italian brand in the States.

The design for the V16T was ideated by Marcelo Gandini, who is known for the Lamborghini Diablo, Countach, and many more cars. When you have a car backed by such personalities, it is bound to grab the attention of high-profile buyers.

Cizeta built nine examples of the V16T. The example owned by Hassanal Bolkiahm, Sultan of Brunei, was ordered by Hong Seh Motors in 1993. The car was then shipped from Modena, Italy to Singapore and stayed there all its life. It was imported to Miami by Curated, a vintage supercar dealer. It was the only one of the nine that came finished in a Blue shade on the outside and blue interior. Cizeta used this very example for press images and for showcase at the 1993 Geneva Auto Show.

The V16T’s highlight was, of course, its engine. The supercar came with a 6.0-liter, V-16 engine that 540 horses at 8,000 rpm and 400 pound-feet of torque at 6,000 rpm. It featured 64 valves, eight camshafts, two fuel-injection systems, four-cylinder heads, and twin timing chains. Power was sent to the wheels via a ZF five-speed gearbox.

This V16T has 600 miles on the odo. It was never registered, so the person who buys this from Curated and registers it will technically be the first owner of the car. The selling dealer notes that the interior shows no signs of wear and tear and even the paint is “as-new”. The radio is original, and so are the tires with the ‘1993’ date code on them.

Although Curated didn’t reveal the price, Business Insider reports that the asking price of this Sultan of Brunei-owned V16T is $729,000. Do you think it’s worth the price? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
