Supercar shapes from the sixties don’t get much more recognizable than the classic Ford GT40 which was a ridiculously fast car back in the day - now one example is being substantially modified and upgraded with a brand new twin-turbo engine and other go-faster parts.

Its original 4.7-liter V8 with 335 horsepower and 336 pound-feet of torque has been removed and replaced with an all-new EcoBoost unit that powers the latest Ford GT.

Work on the car, dubbed the “Future GT Forty,” is being carried out by Irvine, California-based Superformance, and the plan is to reveal it at SEMA this year. The vehicle comes with a Magnaflow exhaust, and it will actually be revealed at Magnaflow’s SEMA stand on October 30, where it will also show off its custom livery, new rims, and new aero parts complete with a massive chassis-mounted rear wing.
