Tesla had a phenomenal week. It was not just the Cybertruck that stole the limelight. The Model 3 is impressing the hell out of everyone all across the glob, and it even received a performance upgrade. The company is also making major strides in terms of expanding its global footprint. What's more, Tesla reported profits in the third quarter, and there's big news out of SpaceX. Could things be any better for Elon Musk right now? Let's take a look at all the news from this week!

Tesla Files ‘Cybertruck’ Trademark

It looks like Cybertruck might be Tesla pickup truck’s official name after all. As reported by GenSao of the TeslaMotorClub, Tesla has registered the monikers “CYBERTRUCK” and “CYBRTRK” with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The same id is reflected on the Office’s website as well. Interestingly, the filing happened the day Musk announced that the Cybertruck will be unveiled on November 21st. Apart from the two words, Tesla has also filed an application for Cybertruck’s official logo (shown above) and has even purchased the domain for cybrtrk.com. For now, the domain leads directly to Tesla’s homepage, but you can expect it to go live the minute the truck is revealed.

BladeRunner-themed Invites Sent For Cybertruck Unveiling

Tesla has now rolled out invites for the event. Upon confirming, the invitees got the following message:

“Your attendance is confirmed for the Cybertruck Unveil on Thursday, November 21 at the Tesla Design Center, 3203 Jack Northrop Ave, Hawthorne, CA.

-* Invitations are non-transferable and IDs will be checked upon arrival

-* Doors open at 7 p.m.

-* Remarks will begin at 8 p.m.

-* Event will be held both indoors and outdoors

-* We recommend light outerwear in case of cooler weather

-* Additional details will be shared at least 24 hours prior to the event”

This is an outdoor event as well. I’m guessing it’s to show the pickup truck’s prowess. Will we see it drag along a Tesla Semi loaded with a Tesla Roadster? Perhaps, this time, the Roadster gets an official launch date? Musk has continued with his ‘Blade Runner’ fascination here as well. The “Los Angeles – November 2019” was seen in the actual movie too, albeit in a different font. We've tried to lighten digital images of the invite but weren't able to uncover any clues or Easter Eggs.

Tesla Model 3 Breaks the Three-Second Barrier with an Over-the-air Update

Tesla Model 3 Performance recently received an over-the-air update that enhanced the performance by five percent. Many owners checked this out and all of them felt the increase in their 0-60 mph sprints. The company earlier claimed 3.2 seconds to hit 60 mph, but after this update, owners were able to breach the three-second barrier. The Model S and Model X also received a three percent improvement in performance.

The Gigafactory 3 Now Eligible For Mass Production

Back in October 2018, the Gigafactory 3’s premises in Shanghai, China were absolutely barren. A year later, a massive Tesla factory stands there. Tesla has some ambitious plans for this factory. According to The Global Times, the company plans to manufacture 17,400 examples of the Model 3 by the end of 2019. That’s approximately 3,000 examples every week from now until the end of this year. Tesla has also received the license to mass-produce the Model 3 in this plant. This comes almost a month after the automaker was given formal approval to begin initial manufacturing operations. Time for Tesla to score in the Chinese market now.

Tesla’s Gigafactory 4 will make Berlin Its Home

The British will be upset because Musk had earlier hinted that a factory will be set up there. However, Musk announced at the “Golden Steering Wheel Award” show that the Gigafactory 4 will make Berlin its home. He said that “everyone knows that German engineering is outstanding, for sure. That’s part of the reason why we are locating our Gigafactory Europe in Germany. We are also going to create an engineering and design center in Berlin, because Berlin has some of the best art in the world.”

This happens to be Tesla’s fourth factory worldwide. The first Gigafactory was built in Nevada, followed by a solar production plant in New York, the Gigafactory 3 in Shanghai, China, and now the Gigafactory 4 in Berlin, Germany.

Tesla’s Share Price Shoots Through The Sky

The Musk-led company had a very strong third quarter this year and it even reported profits. Following the Q3 results, Tesla's stock is showing consistent growth. at the time of writing. With the announcement of the mass production in China and the new Gigafactory coming up in Berlin, analysts expect this upward trend to continue. The launch of the Cybertruck should aid this all the more.

The Model 3 Continues Its Purple Patch Even In Germany

Could there be any better feeling other than beating two of the most popular sedans at their own game? This is a big win for the company considering that Tesla is setting up base there now with the Gigafactory 4. Expect things to only get better for Tesla in Europe hereon.

Honorary mention

The 60 satellites were housed in the rocket’s nose cone. It was the first operational set of SpaceX’s broadband internet constellation. In other news, SpaceX successfully tested its Crew Dragon spacecraft, indicating that the capsule could soon be ready for its final dress rehearsal. The Dragon is one of the two spacecraft NASA plans to use to launch manned missions to the International Space Station. Double-bonanza for SpaceX this week, then.
