Tesla has recently unveiled its Software V11.0, which brings quite a number of comprehensive software updates for its so-called "S3XY" lineup.

Tesla touts its Software V11.0 as its "biggest holiday release yet". One of its new major features is an updated Light Show. While this feature isn't new, as the Model X already had this feature, this new version lets anyone with a computer create their own unique Tesla Light Show via xLights--a free open-source software. Interestingly, no Tesla is required here, as anyone can create their light show and upload it via a USB to someone else's Tesla.

The other major update is the introduction of a new Boombox Megaphone, which allows drivers to communicate to the outside world via the car's external speakers. It's a great tool to talk to someone outside while being inside the vehicle. It can also be an opportunity for you to vent out your frustrations to that left-lane hogger right in front of you or to that driver that decided to cut you off during rush hour. What a time to be alive.

There are also new safety features that were introduced with this update. One of which is a Blind Spot Camera that's similar to what you'll find in a Hyundai Palisade and Kia Telluride. As you use the turn signal, a video feed from the blind spot camera is displayed on the touch screen.

Another safety update is the Sentry Mode Live Camera Access. While this feature is already offered in the United States, Software V11.0 makes this available for the rest of North America and the majority of Europe. This enables you to view a live feed of the car's cameras via the Tesla app.

Software V11.0 also introduces a number of entertainment upgrades. Sonic the Hedgehog, Sudoku, and The Battle of Polytopia have been added to Tesla Arcade. If these aren't entertaining enough, then TikTok is now embedded in the infotainment system, because surely watching TikTok while driving isn't distracting, right?

The user interface has also been updated with a new navigation system, which allows you to hide map details for a cleaner look. You can also add and reorder multiple stops when using the navigation system. The audio system has also been updated to feature five new levels of Immersive Audio, including a new setting that adapts to the content you're playing. Additionally, the subwoofer's settings can now be independently adjusted.

Software V11.0 also automatically adjusts the adaptive air suspension (if fitted to the Model S and Model X) to Comfort mode when the vehicle is in Autopilot. And then for those who want better cold-weather comfort and usability, the software update also introduces remote access to the vehicle's cold-weather features via the Tesla app, along with automatic seat heaters for the Model 3 and Model Y.

Lastly, this Software V11.0 also brings an updated user interface to the Model 3, Model Y, along with the Model S and Model X with an Intel Atom processor. The new interface adopts the look of what's seen in the Model 3 and Model Y, while introducing a new customizable app launcher and support for dark mode.
