We just found out that Elon Musk seems to be taking on the plan to colonize the moon and mars pretty seriously. The Tesla Cybertruck->ke6235 with its nearly impenetrable exoskeleton was unveiled at a cyberpunk-inspired event at Los Angeles yesterday. After trying to break that thing on stage, and woo the flocks with its sci-fi personality and gobs of power, he gave us “One more thing.” – The “Cyberquad” electric ATV.

An ATV was rolled onto the bed of the steel truck that had its suspension dropped down, into what Elon explained as “load-mode”. A built-in ram slides out on the tailgate allowing an ATV or a dirt-bike to just roll on in, and then for the Pièce De Résistance – an electric outlet on the side of the bed to charge the electric ATV on the fly..

The Blade Runner-ish pickup truck has enough juice in its massive batteries even to charge the off-road recreational vehicle via the built-in ports. It's unclear exactly how much the ATV costs, nor do we have any details being fed to us at the moment.

But it looks to be built using the same Ultra-Hard 30X Cold-Rolled stainless-steel structure of the Cybertruck, or it could just be steel/aluminum panels. A TFT instrumentation will later sit on the flat handlebar and strips of LED handle the lighting. The saddle is stitched up of what we could make out as Alcantara, and it runs horizontally from the handlebar, all the way to the rear. The aluminum footpegs are welded onto mini footwells that also act as mudguards.

Sharp all-black stealth design bodywork gives the rider space to shift the bodyweight during cornering or hard acceleration. The wheels have a bespoke design worthy of a cyborg look and are wrapped in aggressive rubber. A chain drive transfers the power to the rear axle that is tethered with a piggyback monoshock and a disc brake setup.

Dual A-arm piggyback shocks at the front has high and low-speed compression adjustability. The braking set up at the front, however, is currently a drum brakes/parking brakes unit controlled via the left handlebar lever.

The weldless frame seems to be designed from lightweight aluminum/steel and is purposefully made as narrow as possible, especially at the A-arm mounting points. This dramatically increases the A-arm length, which reduces changes in the camber as the suspension travels through its full range of motion. The battery pack and the motor sits as low as possible for excellent mass centralization.

We really hope Tesla adds more conveniences to its production models like cargo racks and storage boxes, and maybe even a regenerative braking unit. Currently, it is not available as part of the pre-orders currently live on Tesla's store for the Cybertruck. It could be safe to assume, at the moment, that this ATV is still a prototype.

CF Moto->ke4639 also had an exciting prototype showcased at the recently concluded EICMA, in Milan, that gave us a charming image of an electric ATV future. Polaris ->ke6032 already makes a 30 horsepower electric utility vehicle, and a few budding companies like the DRR from Ohio, New York-based EVS and Oregon’s Barefoot Motors have their line-up of electric products.

But none of them share the enormous resources and the capabilities of EV engineering and development that Tesla->ke1842 enjoys currently. So it will be interesting to know how Tesla will spin and serve us their electric Cyberquad ATV.
