As with most new car launches in China, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology preemptively releases images of what car is soon to be launched in their market. This facelifted 2023 Audi A6 in long-wheelbase form is no exception, and it most likely serves as a preview of the upcoming refreshed model that will be sold around the world.

As with every luxury car in China, the A6 L is essentially a stretched version of the A6 that's sold around the world. The vehicle is produced by the FAW-Volkswagen joint venture since 2018. Its 119-inch wheelbase is 3.9 inches longer than the A6 that's sold around the world. Other vehicles in its segment with a lengthened model exclusive to China include the Mercedes-Benz E-Class L and the long-wheelbase version BMW 5 Series.

Just like the recently-unveiled facelifted Audi A8, this new A6 more-or-less adopts the same changes as its flagship luxury sedan. These include a revised matrix LED headlight design with cleaner LED daytime running lights, a more prominent Singleframe grille, and a new front bumper design.

Depending on the variant, the lower portion of the front bumper features either Y-shaped satin chrome trims at the intake housings along with horizontal bars on the grille. The S Line variant comes with a mesh-like pattern along with a sportier design on the side intake housings.

The side profile of the 2023 Audi A6 remains unchanged, except for the new wheels, which are up to 19 inches in size. Changes at the rear are even more minor, as these seem to be only limited to a revised rear bumper with satin chrome trims.

No photos of the interior have been provided yet, though we won't be surprised if the changes are limited to just the interior trims. Expect the 12.3-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster and 10.1-inch MMI infotainment system to be carried over from the pre-facelift model.

As for powertrains, the Audi A6 L that we see here is wearing the 45 TFSI badge. This means it should be fitted with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo gasoline engine that produces 241 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. This is then sent through all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.

Since the 2023 Audi A6 L has already been unofficially revealed in China, expect the German automaker's midsize luxury car to make its global debut in sedan and wagon form in just a few months from now.
