After teasing the hypercar with discreet images, Pininfarina has finally unveiled the Battista at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. It is the most powerful car to have come out of the Italy - a country that is home to Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Maserati, to name a few. The design house has launched the Battista, named after its founder, with 1,900 horses under the hood. Does it have your attention yet?

Are These Figures For Real?

Is this a car from a video game? Certainly not. Cars in video game aren't this fast. Power is supplied via four electric motors, each one feeding equal amount of power and torque to each wheel. It has a top speed of 250 mph, but is still not the fastest car. The Battista falls 10 mph short of Rimac C_Two which tops out at 260 mph. Interestingly, it is Rimac that has developed the powertrain and battery tech for Pininfarina!

This Hypercar Is Unique In Many Ways

The Pininfarina Battista is built on a carbon fiber monocoque, and features a 120 kWh lithium-ion battery pack housed underneath behind the occupants and in the side in a smart 'T' format. The range is expected to be around 300 miles on a single charge. The Battista rides on specially-designed 21-inch Pirelli P Zero Trofeo tires. The alloys look smoking hot, to say the least. As for the stopping prowess, the braking duties are taken over by carbon ceramic discs and six-piston calipers designed by Brembo. It also allows for brake-energy recuperation to the battery.

Looks Great And Does The Job Too

The Battista is unmistakably a Pinifarina product. It boasts a long body design with curves in all the right places. The front fascia houses long LED strip between the LED headlights. yo Its integrated bonnet scoop and carbon splitters contribute immensely to the downforce. In the rear, the split-tail section is the highlight. The cut-outs at the end of the section are connected by a carbon fiber panel. When accelerating, it pops a little to increase the downforce, and when slowing down, it acts as an air brake. The taillights have been integrated into the rear wings, making the car look a lot more fancy without compromising on the driving abilities. The charging port is also located in the tail section and shows the battery levels on a dedicated light bar.

Smart On The Inside

The Battista is high-tech on the inside as well. It features two screens beside the steering wheel tilted towards the driver, and a centre screen that displays all the vital statistics. The screen on either sides will display vehicle instruments and navigation. Rotors are present on either side of the seat, with the left one controlling drive modes and the right one controlling transmission. Despite being an expensive, unique car, Poininfarina can customize the Battista to any extent for the buyers.
