The sixth-generation drops tomorrow!
by Jonathan Lopez, onLike pouring water into a bucket used for target practice, the BMW 7 Series has been leaking all over the place this week. Now, BMW is heading up the hype train with a fresh teaser showing the new luxury sled’s front end.

This latest teaser was posted to BMW’s Twitter feed, and includes the following caption: “Make them stare. Unveiling a new chapter of luxury. Stay tuned tomorrow.”
While it’s nice to see the 2020 7 Series again, this latest teaser really isn’t all that revealing, if we’re honest. We’ve seen a ton of leaks of the new 7 Series over the last week or so, including this one, and this one, both of which look like they came from private showings.
As such, we already know with some clarity what the 7’s nose will look like. It will include thin headlight housings that are pulled back into the front fenders, a shapely lower fascia with lots of complementary chrome trim, geometric daytime running light graphics, and a plus-sized kidney grille (also ringed with chrome). LED’s will provide forward illumination, while laser lights will round out the spec overseas. Higher in the range, sportier trim levels will get more aggressive intakes and a reshaped lower fascia.
You may recognize the 7’s aesthetic from models like the new X7 and the 2014 Vision Future Luxury Concept as well.
Inside, the 2020 BMW 7 Series will come decked out in high-end luxury bits from tip to tail, plus infotainment stuff like digital instrumentation and convenience features through the latest iteration of the iDrive platform.
Providing the power will be a selection of six-cylinder engines, including both gas and diesel variants, as well as a twin-turbo V-8 and a range-topping 6.6-liter V-12. A hybrid is another possibility.
Pricing should be set at roughly $85,000, making the new 7 Series a competitor for the Audi A8, Lexus LS 500, and Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
Interestingly, BMW is circumventing the 2019 Detroit Auto Show for this debut, instead opting for a standalone event in Germany that’s all about the new 7 Series. Stay tuned to TopSpeed as we bring you all the latest and greatest when the sheets fall away tomorrow.
