Basically, it’s way rarer than a Dodge Demon

LISTEN 02:11

Just like the Demon, the Challenger Super Stock was built with the drag strip in mind. There are some quintessential differences between the two, but one of them stands out more than the others.

As things stand right now, the Super Stock is going to be way more limited than the Demon, at least as far as the 2020MY is concerned.

Are you playing the exclusivity card, Dodge?

A lot of years after it introduced the current Challenger, Dodge is still churning out special edition models. Hey, we’re not judging, because all of them had something unique to bring to the table. Be it the Demon, the Redeye, and now, the Super Stock.

There’s a catch, though. According to Motor Trend, Dodge will only assemble 200 units of the 2020 Challenger Super Stock. What does that mean? If you fervently want one, then hurry up. If it can wait, however, then there’s no reason to rush in, as Dodge is expected to ramp up the production of the 2021MY Challenger Super Stock.

Being such a rare bird, the 2020 model might be a favorite among collectors and it might even increase its value to a heftier extent than a 2021 Super Stock, despite the fact that they’ll be identical, mechanically speaking.

Every Super Stock will pack the same engine Dodge dropped in the Redeye, namely the 6.2-liter V-8 we all know and love. Except in the Super Stock, it makes 10 hp more, so 807 instead of 797, while torque stays the same: 707 pound-feet.

In addition to the extra grunt, the Super Stock sits on 18-inch wheels enveloped in Nitto NT05R drag radials (the same kind used on the Demon). Stopping power comes from four-piston Brembo brake calipers in the front that bite into 14.2-inch rotors.

Now you tell us whether it’s worth to jump in now and buy a 2020 Super Stock and get the advantage of exclusivity or wait until next year, since the cars will most likely be identical.

As time went on, he started seeing that in other cars as well, and his love for the automobile was born.  Read full bio
