Hype is building for the upcoming Jeep pickup, the first such model to come from the brand in three decades. We’ve pieced together some of the basics from spy shots and rumors, but now we’re getting a much better handle on what to expect thanks to a recently leaked memo sent to FCA dealers, with the really big news including a confirmation that Jeep will pull the sheets on its new pickup at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show on November 28th!

Jeep Fans Rejoice

The latest news come to us courtesy of a recent post on the enthusiast website JeepScramblerForum.com, which apparently saw the memo posted in a new thread. Commence the speculation.

The memo includes a number of bullet points that tease various features and characteristics of the upcoming Jeep Pickup, including a hint that the exterior will get an “authentic” Jeep design.

What’s more, the memo promises the same off-roading capability we’ve come to expect of the brand, as well as “real truck capability.”

Another interesting bullet point mentions “15 class-exclusive innovations,” which means the truck will most likely include features taken from the latest JL Jeep Wrangler. We’re thinking new and interesting body configurations thanks to removable doors and a fold-down windshield, as well as a new composite cargo area to keep it tough when hauling stuff.

The JL Wrangler will also likely supply the pickup’s frame, interior components, and powertrain configuration.

Inside, look for the Jeep Pickup to carry the latest in safety system tech, plus some new infotainment stuff as well. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support are both specifically mentioned.

Under the hood, we expect a choice between a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder making 270 horsepower and a 3.6-liter V-6 producing 285 horsepower. A 3.0-liter diesel might even make the list. The transmission set-up will likely include an eight-speed automatic across the board, with both RWD and AWD drivetrain configurations making the traction.

We’re only a few short weeks away from the big sheet pull, so stay tuned!
