Normally, we don’t get this excited over a new color brought to adorn this or that supercar, but we have to stand up and admit that on the 2021 NSX, the Long Beach Blue treatment looks absolutely marvelous. Plus, it brings back one of the rarest body colors available for first-gen NSXs, so what’s not to like, really?

Get this: just 88 Acura NSX cars were painted in Long Beach Blue, and it was only offered for four years, between 2002 and 2005.

That said, Long Beach Blue sprayed on the 2021 Acura NSX will cost you $1,000. That’s not the most you can pay for your NSX’s color, though. Pick any of the two colors from Acura’s Andaro range (Valencia Red Pearl or Nouvelle Blue Pearl) for the NSX and you’ll have to shell out $6,000.

Of course, if you’re already paying $157,000 for your new Japanese supercar (that’s the MSRP tag of a 2021 Acura NSX sans the $1,995 destination fee), $1,000 for such a neat paint job shouldn’t be a problem.

Since we’re talking turkey, on top of the base price tag, you can always spend more for optional goodies such as the Carbon Fiber Interior Sport Package ($3,800), Gloss Carbon Fiber Exterior Sport Package plus a carbon-fiber engine cover ($12,600), and the carbon-ceramic brake setup with silver, red, or orange calipers ($10,600). The same setup but with black calipers is $9,900.

2021 Acura NSX prices

Nothing changes on the powertrain front, so you basically get the same twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 mated with three electric motors and a nine-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Power is still rated at 573 horsepower, but Car and Driver testing showed that’s enough to catapult the NSX from naught to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds, with the quarter-mile run taking 11.1 seconds @ 126 mph. That's what we like to call a blue rocket.
