The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX made its grand appearance on August 17, 2020 and it turned out to be quite impressive. At the reveal presentation, the truck was touted as “The Most Powerful Mass-produced Truck in the World”. Ram also claims it to be the most luxurious truck, but do all these things come at a cheap sticker price? Of course not. The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX may start at just $69,995, but equip it with all the accessories and options available now (not counting from the MOPAR catalog), and it soon breaches the six-digit mark. Courtesy of this, this performance off-roader is the most expensive half-ton pickup ever.

This Truck Gets Pricey Very Soon

Ram is also offering 702 examples of the “Launch Edition” that’s priced at $90,315. The addition here is the $12,150 “TRX” Launch Edition package priced at $12,150. However, you can’t have this package alone. It comes bundled with the TRX Level Equipment Group that costs $7920. And, finally, the exclusive Anvil Grey color – which also happens to be the only color you can buy the Launch Edition in – is priced at $250. Add all these up and the total comes up to $90,315, destination charges excluded.

So, essentially, the two packages included here are the TRX Launch Edition and the TRX Level 2 Equipment Group. However, there are a lot of other things that are not included here. For instance, The Trailer Camera Wiring Prep Package needs to be bought additionally and it costs $590. But, it doesn’t include the camera itself. The camera needs to be purchased from the Mopar, but the Mopar bible isn’t active yet.

There are other packages like the TRX Carbon Fiber Package, the Advanced Safety Group, Technology Group, and the Bed Utility Group, but the Launch Edition package includes all of these. The one that’s not included is the Trailer-Tow Group that adds $395 to the price.

As for the other accessories that you can add to the Launch Edition, they include:

Black Power-Fold Trailer-Tow Mirrors

$445

Bed-Mounted Tire Carrier

$995

Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover

$695

RamBar

$1,895

We’ve selected the latter two over the Tonneau Cover here. For the side steps, you can either opt for the Off-road Style Running Boards or the Rock Rails. Ram is charging $1,195 and $995 for them, respectively. But, since the objective is to figure out how expensive the truck can get with the add-ons available as of now, we’ll choose the former. So, with all these accessories and packages, the Ram Rebel TRX’s cost has come up to $97,525. Mind you, this has already become the most expensive truck in the Ram’s lineup, and, It beats even fully-loaded Ram 3500 HD with dual rear wheels, which comes up to $95,865.

Since the truck is already equipped with a lot of packages, it covers almost everything that the company has to offer. The only couple of things you can add are the Ram Telematics that costs $800, along with a five-year subscription for the same that is priced at $1,920. A three-year subscription is also available for $960. The Trailer Reverse Steering Control can also be added for $495.

Since the truck comes with just one engine and transmission option, there isn’t a lot you can add. The only thing here is the Engine Block Heater for $95. This includes the base price of the truck, all the packages and accessories, and the $1,695 destination charge. We’re still waiting for the 100-plus exclusive 1500 TRX accessories from Mopar, which will include stuff like off-road lighting, all-weather floor mats, toolbox, safety kits, and the like. These accessories will add few more thousand to the price at least, and we can’t wait to see how much a fully-loaded 2021 Ram 1500 TRX will cost.

How Would We Spec Our 2021 Ram Rebel TRX

Being an off-road performance truck, I’m more than happy with the base TRX itself. There is no option to choose between engines, transmissions, suspension systems, body styles, etc. So, a base TRX would suffice. But, if I were looking for a few more add-ons, here’s how I’d spec the truck:

My primary requirement would be to make it even tougher off road. All the luxurious features won’t be taken into consideration. Hence, I won’t be opting for the Launch Edition Package or either of the TRX Equipment Groups. There are four standalone packages to consider here – TRX Carbon-Fiber package (the flat-bottom steering wheel is drool-worthy!), Advanced Safety Group, Technology Group (for the multi-color, five-content Heads-Up Display), and the Bed Utility Group. But, to equip any of them, the TRX Level 2 Equipment Group is a must. Only the Bed Utility Group can be had with the Level 1 Group.

Moving to the exterior add-ons, I’ve chosen the signature Red/Black exterior shade. The graphics look amazing, but they are priced exorbitantly high, so I’m going to skip those. I’ve opted for the Off-Road Style Running Boards over the Rock Rails just because they don’t hinder with the ground clearance as much as the latter. A Bed-Mounted Tire-Carrier is a must, but I’ll be skipping the RamBar, which might be an unpopular opinion. For the cabin, I’m pretty happy with what’s on offer. The only thing I’ll be adding here is the massive dual-pane panoramic sunroof.
