Ford's Bronco Raptor caused a lot of buzz when it finally broke cover last month. The online configurator is now live on Ford's website, and I decided to give it a go. I was just curious to see how much would a fully spec'd out Bronco Raptor cost and how it'd compare to its chief competitor, the HEMI-powered Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392.

The Build

Starting with a base MSRP of $68,500 I checked off every optional extra that saw the addition of just over 12 grand in options. Now, bear in mind that I wasn't picky here and went with the most expensive optional extras.

The Final Price

All things considered, I was looking at $82,160 (estimated) including destination, which makes the Bronco Raptor about five grand dearer than the base model Rubicon 392, sitting just under $77,000. For now, you've only got one engine option, i.e the 3.0-liter Ecoboost V-6 that puts out 400 horses. It is slated for production this summer at Ford's Wayne facility in Michigan, where the Ranger Raptor will also be put together.
