There was a huge wave of excitement when Acura announced the revival of the Integra name at the recent Monterey Car Week
The Japanese automaker has since been putting out teaser images of the upcoming car
People initially thought that the next Integra will be a three-door coupe, like the one seen here in this rendering
However, from this latest teaser image, It looks like Acura will first debut a five-door hatchback instead as the brand did back in the 80s. The design has a fastback profile similar to that found on four-door coupes from Porsche and Audi
That being said don't rule out a future three-door model, which is likely to follow suit
The upcoming Integra will share its underpinnings and platform with the current generation Honda Civic
As far as engines are concerned, will most likely also borrow its powerplant from the Civic as well, where the more powerful Type S might get the turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four from the Civic Type R
The four-door Integra will debut in 2022 and will go up against other compacts like the Mercedes CLA, BMW 2 Series, and the Audi A3. We can't for it. Swipe Up to Read More.
