Placed above the Santa Fe, the Palisade is a very new model in Hyundai's lineup. It debuted at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show and went on sale in 2019, so it is basically not even two years old. But, it looks like the SUV is about to get its first facelift version as the first prototype was caught out for a testing session. It is not the usual light camouflage we see on facelift prototypes either. In fact, most of the body of this Palisade is hidden, meaning we should expect some major updates.

The latest Palisade facelift was caught testing in Europe, around the Arctic Circle, which is a little weird since the full-size SUV is not even sold in the old continent. It is, however, sold in Russia, where it is also being produced, so testing it there kind of makes sense.

As we previously stated, the amount of camouflage makes it difficult to see any of the changes the facelift Palisade will bring. Rumors suggest that the SUV will get a bigger grille and LED lights reaching into the grille as seen on Hyundai Tucson. They will still have a split design, and the lower part will also be re-designed. The taillights will also be redesigned and so will both the front and the rear bumpers.

As for the interior, expect the cabin to look pretty much the same, but with some additional trim and upholstery. The infotainment system will also be updated to the latest version.

Under the hood, we expect to see the same 3.8-liter six-cylinder engine that delivers a total of 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. However, there is hope for some hybrid powertrains to be added to the lineup.

The facelift Palisade is expected to be unveiled before the end of 2022 and go on sale in early 2023.
