Launched in 2019, the current generation Land Rover Defender is offered in 90 and 110 versions. Now, it looks like Land Rover is preparing to add another version to the lineup: a stretched version called 130.

Our spy photographers caught the new model during cold weather testing in Sweden before its expected debut later this year.

For the Defender, the nomenclature 90 and 110 is a direct reference to the wheelbase, but it seems that things will be different for the 130. Rumors suggest that it will be built on the same 119 inches wheelbase as the current 110, with the only difference being a longer rear overhang. This means that the next Defender 130 will, in fact, offer room for two to three extra seats.

Except for the extra length, the next Defender 130 will be identical to the 90 and 110 versions, on both the exterior and the interior.

It is also expected that the next Defender 130 will be offered with the same engine lineup as the Defender 90 and Defender 110. For example, in the States, we are talking about a 2.0-liter four-cylinder rated at 296 horsepower and a 3.0-liter six-cylinder gasoline engine combined with a 4.8-volt electric supercharger that delivers a total of 395 horsepower.

Expect the new Defender 130 to be launched by the end of 2022 with sales to begin in early 2023.
