The next-gen Mercedes GLC is scheduled to debut sometime in 2022 with sales to commence for 2023. We haven’t seen it much since the shift to fall of 2021, but these latest shots, do shed some interesting light on the upcoming crossover. It should be noted that this prototype is still rocking a full body wrap, which tells us that Mercedes isn’t really close to the being ready for the full reveal. We’d speculate at this point, that it won’t be until at least summer of 2022 at the earliest. That said, we do finally get a good look at the interior, and wow – it’s impressive.

As you can see from the image above, the GLC’s interior seems to be largely inspired by the latest C-Class, which in turn, is inspired by the latest S-Class. The spy shots reveal that new instrument panel display and the angled in-dash infotainment screen. It remains to be seen if it’ll get the adjustability of the screen in the new Mercedes-AMG SL, but it wouldn’t be as needed in a crossover, so I wouldn’t hold my breath. Unfortunately, the rest of the interior is covered in black cloth, so we can’t make out much else, but this is at least a start.

As for the powertrain offerings, the new GLC will ride on Merc’s Modular Rear Architecture, which means it’ll have the same underpinnings as the C-Class sedan. As such, they two models will likely share powertrains. Including something performance-oriented with an AMG badge. The entire lineup should consist of turbocharged, four-cylinder engines, with he most powerful AMG models coming a year or two after initial launch.
