It seems that Audi engineers were very busy today. On one side of the world they were unveiling the new A6 e-Tron Concept in its wagon form, while on the other, they continue testing the production version A6 e-Tron.

When it will finally be launched sometime in late 2023, the A6 e-Tron will be a serious competitor to models like Mercedes-Benz EQS.

Do not expect the production version to retain the aggressive design of the concept. It will however have the same liftback body style, as the first A6 e-Tron concept we've seen. The production version seems to have a very short overhang at the front and we can also see the prominent split-headlight design we have earlier seen on the Audi Q6 e-tron.

While details on the production version A6 e-Tron are limited, we do know it will be built on the same PPE platform that will also be seen on models like the Porsche Macan EV. It is expected that the production version will feature the same dual-motor setup as the concept. This setup delivers a total of 469 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque.

An 800-volt charging technology will be offered as standard and there will also be a 100 kWh battery that will ensure a range of 435 miles on a single charge - on WLTP cycle. This means the car should have around 400 miles on the EPA cycle.

The new Audi A6 e-Tron is expected to be unveiled in late 2023, with sales to begin in 2024.
