• The 2024 Audi A6 e-Tron Prototype Spied Testing At The Nürburgring

Audi will try to find out how fast the A6 e-tron actually is!

Audi only started to test the A6 e-tron last month, and after a few playing sessions in the snow of the Arctic Circle, it seems that the electric sedan is now ready to conquer the Nürburgring, where it had to go through some endurance testing. Audi will also test how fast the A6 e-Tron actually is.

The prototype caught testing around Nürburgring is still very heavily camouflaged, but it is obvious it will retain the sportback-like shape of the A6 e-Tron Concept launched exactly one year ago. Also, it seems that Audi decided not to go with the same Matrix LED headlights as in the concept. Instead, the production version will be offered with split headlights - a design that seems to be popular among future models.

Along with the Q6 e-tron, the A6 e-Tron will be built on the Premium Electric Platform (PPE) - a modular platform developed exclusively for electric vehicles by Porsche, Audi, and Bentley. It is the same platform that will be used for the future Porsche Macan EV. It will ensure not only quicker charging, but also better range.

Rumors suggest that the A6 e-Tron will be offered with the same dual-motor setup as the concept, where it delivers a total of 469 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. The production version will also be offered with 800-volt charging technology and there will also be a 100 kWh battery that will ensure a range of 435 miles on a single charge - based on the WLTP cycle. This means the car should have around 400 miles as per the EPA cycle.

The new A6 e-Tron will be developed at the same time as the facelift A6, and will be launched a few months after the Q6 E-Tron SUV.
