The fact that BMW is testing a facelift version for the X6 should be no surprise to anyone. After all, the X5 facelift is being tested for a month now, in both, the standard as well as the M versions. And, now it's the facelift X6's turn to go out in the snow and start playing.

Just like with the X5, changes will be minimal - precisely why this prototype is mostly uncovered. The biggest changes will be made up front, where we expect to see the same bumper design that we saw on the recently spotted facelifted X5. The headlights will also get a new design, and while many were hoping they will be inspired by the recently launched XM Concept, they will in fact just be a little bit slimmer than the current ones.

At the rear, there is nothing new on this prototype. But, the facelift BMW X6 is expected to be revealed sometime in 2023 as a 2024 model, so there is time for a lot to change.

We also have a picture of the interior, and, like all the recently launched models, the facelift X6 will also benefit from BMW’s latest iDrive 8 infotainment system.

We do not expect any major updates under the hood; so, the X6 will continue to be offered with the same engine lineup. In the States customers will still get the usual 40i model with a turbocharged, 3.0-liter inline-six engine rated at 335 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque and the M50i powered by twin-turbo, 4.4-liter V-8 rated at 523 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque.
