Back in 2021, Alpine announced that after only four years on the market the A110 sports car will be discontinued, and that, for the future, the brand will mostly focus on electric cars. The first teaser image, revealed at the same time with the announcement revealed that Alpine is working on three different electric cars: a small hatchback, a compact crossover, and a sports car.

The electric crossover will be called Alpine GT X-Over, and it seems that it has already begun testing. Our spy photographers caught an experimental vehicle based on a heavily modified Dacia Duster body out for some testing session around the Arctic Circle.

Since we are only looking at a heavily modified Dacia Duster is very hard to make an idea as to what the next Alpine GT X-Over will look like. In fact, there are very few details available on the electric crossover at the moment.

All we know so far is that it will be based on the same CMF-EV platform as the Nissan Ariya and the Renault Megane E-Tech. This could mean that the next Alpine crossover will be offered with the same powertrain as the Megane E-Tech, but at the same time, we also expect more output under the hood, since this is an Alpine car.

Just as a reminder, the Megane E-Tech is powered by a single electric motor, placed up front, and is offered in two versions: one with 130 horsepower and the other with 220 horsepower. The base version gets a 40kWh battery, while the top version gets a 60kWh pack. The range figures vary from 186 to 292 miles.
