In the past few days, we brought you a lot of spy shots of various models that will get a facelift version in 2022. BMW, Alpina, Rolls-Royce, Mercedes-Benz, are all preparing to update their model lineup.

But, so is Porsche, who is preparing a facelift version for the entire 911 lineup. Lately, we've seen the 911 Coupe and the 911 Turbo out playing in the snow, but, today it is time for the 911 Cabriolet to flex its muscles in the Scandinavian snow.

Since we are only talking about a facelift version, changes in the 911 Cabrio will be minimal. The front end will get a new bumper with different air intakes and vertical slats that can be opened or closed depending on cooling needs. The same minimal updates will be applied to the rear end, where we expect to see a new bumper and revised taillights.

The interior should also be updated with new trims and upholstery, and perhaps, also with new fully digital dials as found in models like the Taycan.

One interesting thing about all the latest 911 facelift prototypes is the position of the exhaust system. If in the current 911 the exhaust system ends with double end pipes on each side, in these prototypes the end pipes are positioned in the middle. This could actually indicate that the current twin-turbo, 3.0-liter flat-six engine will be replaced by a 4.0-liter, naturally aspirated flat-six one - similar to models like Cayman GT4 or Cayman GTS 4.0.

While so far we can only speculate on this new engine, we do know that in the Cayman GTS 4.0 the naturally aspired engine delivers a total of 414 horsepower and 309 pound-feet of torque. It is also used in the GT3 where it delivers 502 horses at 8,400 rpm and 346 pound-feet of torque at 6,100 rpm. So, hopefully, the 911's output will be somewhere in the middle of these two.

The facelift 911 is expected to be launched sometime before the end of 2022, so hopefully we will know more about it by then.
