Overview

The new Aston Martin V12 Vantage is returning to make the scream of its engine heard for the last time. This is a significant moment for the British brand and the Vantage as the V-12 will indeed be the final incarnation before its retirement. Thankfully, it won't be a limited-run model.

We first heard of the car when Aston put out a short teaser wherein all you could hear was the sound of a howling V-12. In that teaser you had the phrase; 'Never Leave Quitely' which may refer to Aston Martin's decision not to produce a follow-up to the current Vantage.

What to expect from the 2023 Aston Martin V12 Vantage

Well, the main highlight by a mile is that V-12 heart. The old V12 Vantage of course was a hoot to drive. But Aston ditched the V-12 after the introduction of the current-gen Vantage back in 2017. While we won't have to wait much longer to find out more about that V-12, the soundtrack does remind me of the 5.2-liter twin-turbo found on the V12 Speedster that puts out 700 horsepower and 555 pound-feet of torque. } That'd make it more than 200 horses more than its V8 sibling.

Well, that was then.

Apart from the engine, there's a lot going on the surface as well. Spyshots of the car didn't reveal much in terms of the specs but were enough to get an idea of what the car looks like. Take, for instance, the front end, where the grille finally has proper horizontal and vertical strakes. The tail end, meanwhile, has a more substantial diffuser and a pair of proper exhaust pipes in the center.

To Sum It Up

The Vantage's successor will be a 100-percent electric sports car, due in 2025. Although V-12s will continue to be produced until at least 2026 or 2027, only for selected models and exclusively on client request. This is in keeping with Aston Martin's future plans for electrification.

A V-12 powered car is hard to come by in this day and age of EVs. I, for one, can't wait to see what Aston unveils tomorrow. Will they offer a manual? Hey, maybe I'm asking for too much here. Watch this space.
