The British Touring Car Championship will return to Rockingham.

It was in 2003 when one of the rounds for the British Touring Car Championship last visited the exciting venue of Rockingham in Northamptonshire, which has held Cart, Rally Stages and other types of car racing, yet the track has still to make that stella impact by staging international motor sport events.

The British Touring Car Championship is a very exciting format which appeals to many people for different reason, the one major thing about the series is that the cars are the same as the car that you would see everyday on the road, with the manufacturers SEAT and Vauxhall (GM) entering works cars and independent teams using such cars as Honda, MG, BMW, Peugeot, Alfa Romeo, and Lexus, it is easy to see why the series has such a following as the cars that are in the car parks are the same (In body) as those racing around the track.

The cars all run 2.0 litre engines that can use either petrol, diesel, bio-ethanol or gas, and the series uses a ballast system that is used to equalise the performance which will give the teams an even chance of getting results and manages to create an exciting format.

The British Touring Car Championship starts on April 1st 2007 at Brands Hatch in Kent.
