The Buick Enclave has nothing in common with the world of racing. It is a family-oriented three-row crossover SUV, and in all honestly, not a very successful one - it has been recalled twice this last April alone. So, as you can imagine, not many people look at the Enclave and think about how it will look on the race track. But, Hugo Silva - known as hugosilvadesigns on Instagram, took the very boring Enclave and transformed it into a very cool-looking DTM race car. And the result is more than breath-taking!

Of course, this digital rendering has nothing in common with the actual SUV. The designer dropped the three-row crossover-SUV body, removed the rear doors, and brought the car closer to the ground. However, this wild race car is based on the DTM era that ended in 2020. This means the Enclave was required to have a single-plane element rear wing and aero winglets all over the body. Also, the car will be light since the requirement is somewhere between 1,115 and 1,070 kg (2,458 to 2,359 lbs).

The front end of the DTM Enclave is dominated by a big Buick grille with the logo placed in the top middle and a huge splitter with a special channel that helps cool the engine. Next to the huge wing, the rear also features a huge bumper and a giant diffuser. The car rides on a very cool set of wheels wrapped in Hankook tires - that are perfect for the race track. What we really like about this concept car is the grey exterior finish that fits the racer just perfectly.

If the Enclave DTM would actually enter the race, it will have to face serious competition from both German and the Italian companies. Cars like the Audi R8 LMS GT3, the BMW M4 GT3, the Porsche 911 GT3 R, the Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo or the Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo enjoy great success in these racing competitions, and it it's hard to imagine a Buick, modified or not, standing a chance.

While we are aware of the fact that this is just a design exercise and there is no chance to ever see this race car on an actual track, it is still a very expepriment. It also proves that Buick cars can also look cool and that the company should look into building more than just boring family cars that nobody wants.
